I picked up a non working TS-790 to be used as my second radio recently
in the hopes of repairing it. It is beyond my abilities to do so. ( A
humbling experience for sure.)
It is missing most of the pot knobs and a bunch of internal screws.
Someone removed the backup battery and holder before my ownership. It
does not have the 1.2 option or the rear cover where it would reside. I
was able to get it to power up briefly and when it does ( about every
15th push of the on-off button ) it seems to go into a scan mode. I was
not able to get the sub panel to come to life.
